SageVest Seasonal Survey 2018
In addition to our financial support of Sitar Arts Center of DC, we also furnish donations to other worth causes, chosen via our online survey. We’re pleased to announce the winners of this year’s seasonal survey, as follows:
First Place – The Women’s Center
For over forty years, The Women’s Center has been providing low-cost mental health support, education, counselling, and advocacy for individuals throughout the Capital region. Since it was first founded in 1974, The Women’s Center has gradually expanded its services. It now offers support to all members of the community – women, men, young adults, families, and children – via its two locations in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC.
Second Place – Second Story
Second Story offers children, youth, and their families an opportunity to write their ‘second story’ by providing support and services to help overcome trauma, crisis, abuse, and other personal challenges. Second Story serves the DC and Northern VA areas, helping to empower thousands of at-risk children and teens each year through its crisis shelter, homeless youth, and young mothers programs.
Third Place – Pets Bring Joy
Pets Bring Joy is an all-volunteer animal rescue organization serving the DC Metro area. The organization fosters homeless animals through its network of foster families, providing love, medical treatment, and other support until the animal is adopted. Pets Bring Joy places a special emphasis on rehoming adult and special needs cats who are frequently overlooked at shelters in favor of kittens.
